Hey everyone!
So my camera, once again is currently getting fixed so I thought I'd put up a post about how I take my pictures. I have gotten a couple of questions on it so I thought I would just do a post explaining what I do. I took these pics with my phone before sending off my camera so I do apologize for the quality, but I hope you get an idea.
So the camera I use is the Nikon d5000, and I believe it came out last year (not quite sure when) but it is not sold anymore. I like this camera overall, it takes pretty decent pics and is a great for beginners, as I honestly know nothing about photography and still get away with taking pretty pics. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this camera to anyone because of the fact that I've already had to send it twice to get fixed, but then again, I always have the worst luck with technology.
Here's what it looks like, the lens I use is the standard 18-55 mm
Now I zoom in almost all the way for my eyes and lips and these are the setting I use. This is in the "S" mode.
For a picture of my products, I use the Macro setting, or the flower mode:
And I do use flash photography for all my pictures. I know this is really bad, but since I usually do my tutorials at night, I have to use flash since I don't have decent lighting just yet (again, need to learn a little bit more on it).
Oh and also, the white background you sometimes see underneath the product pictures is just a regular white canvas. I bought this from hobby lobby a while back to create some paintings but found better use for it.
So again, I'm a complete amateur at photography so I do apologize if this was a completely unhelpful post. If you have any tips on taking pictures without flash, or tips in general about photography, they're more than welcome!
One more thing! Now this might be a little early to mention, but in the beginning of June I will be out of country for six weeks so I will not be posting at all. I am currently looking for guest bloggers during this time period so if you're interested, please do email me (email on side)! It can be anything beauty related, ANYTHING. This is a perfect opportunity for those who have just started their blogs and need a little push :).
I look forward to hearing from you, thank you so much and have an amazing week!

I love your camera! I use the Canon 1000d and it works great. I actually use a white light for my product photos to fill in the shadowy spots.
